Anita D. Bentley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – It is a wonderful celebration for Anita D. Bentley, 65, and great sadness for Danny and Cody Bentley as they announce the passing of Danny’s wife of forty-four years and Cody’s mom. She went to be present with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 18, 2021, at her home. She was born on September 11, 1956, in Corrine Bottom, West Virginia; daughter of the late Rev. T.L. and Thelma Miller Sizemore. She was preceded in death by her infant son, John Thomas “J.T.” Bentley; one sister, Crystal Hodges; and one brother-in-law, Jesse Keene. Anita loved the Lord, growing up in the Church of God, and was a member of the St. Paul First Baptist Church in St. Paul, Virginia, where she loved singing in the choir. Staying in their camper with her family was the highlight of her summers. Anita was a licensed Beautician, she earned a degree in Accounting, and had her own bookkeeping business since 1999, Anita’s bookkeeping. She also worked at Castlewood Funeral Home for 17 years as an Administrative Assistant. Anita will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Danny W. Bentley; one son, Cody A. Bentley of Harrisonburg, Virginia; two sisters, Thelma Keene of Raysal, West Virginia and Stephanie Sizemore of Bluefield, West Virginia; one brother, Thomas E. Sizemore and wife, Melinda of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina; several nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. Funeral Services for Anita D. Bentley will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Lee Kidd and Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Larry McReynolds, Tyler Holbrook, Steven Gullett, Jeff Lewis, Roy Glovier, and Cody Bentley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the past and present employees of Castlewood Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
