Becky Dishman Buckles

September 30, 1957 - February 3, 2022

CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Becky Dishman Buckles, 64, passed on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Johnson City, Tennessee. She was born in Kingsport, Tennessee; daughter of the late Guy Sr. and Mary Magdalene Elam Dishman. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Dishman and Guy Victor Dishman, Jr.; and three sisters, Mary Long, Wilma Sullivan, and Peggy Suits. Becky was a member of St. Paul Assembly of God Church and attended The House of Prayer Church in Castlewood, Virginia. She worked at the Hanging Rock Clinic for thirty-five years and also worked at the Riverside Clinic in St. Paul. Becky loved everyone and would lend a helping hand to anyone, no matter their situation. She will dearly be missed by her family and the many friends she had made through the years, there are too many to name. She is survived by her husband, Freddie Buckles, Jr.; her daughter, Allison of Castlewood, Virginia; two grandchildren, Mason and Gabrielle; sister-in-law/best friend, Cathy Buckles and husband, Rob; special nieces, Dawn and Ivy Long; along with several other nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services for Becky Dishman Buckles will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Lawrence Hollyfield and Rev. George Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Curtis Minton, Curtis Minton, II., Todd Long, T.J. Hall, Bill Higgins, and Shawn Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Couch and Dr. Duke Holiday. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. The family would like to give special thanks to the E.R. and I.C.U. Department at Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Johnson City, Tennessee.
