ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA – Betty Lou Stephens, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia. She was born in Clinchco, Virginia; the daughter of the late Willie and Evelyn Kiser Reynolds. She was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Reynolds; five sisters, Carrie Sykes, Martha Deloach, Debbie Reynolds, Judy Reynolds, and Joyce Grizzle; one great-grandson, Austin Boyd; father of her children, McArthur Neece; and second husband, Samuel “Dock” Stephens. Betty had many hobbies, which included reading the Bible, shopping, camping, fishing, and playing cards. Some of her favorite things were vanilla ice cream and the color pink. Her favorite quote was “Let me Pray for you”. She loved helping people and giving them what they needed, even if it was the shirt off her back. She was a soldier for God, a member of St. Paul Assembly of God Church in St. Paul, Virginia, and she taught Bible School at the House of the Lord Church in Castlewood, Virginia. She is survived by her fiancé, Billy Joe Steffey of St. Paul, Virginia; four daughters, Sherry Neece Woods of Castlewood, Virginia, Loretta Neece Hale and husband, Carlos of Castlewood, Virginia, Margaret Neece White and husband, Ted of St. Paul, Virginia, and Brenda Neece Martinez and husband, Heriberto of Lebanon, Virginia; sixteen grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, Christina, Rebecca, Jose, Lorrie, Candice, Shannon, Jessica, Alex, Sammy, Scotty, Kimberly, Brandon, Amy, and Amanda; eighteen great-grandchildren, Christian, Jayden, William, Sammy, Zander, Stormee, Grayson, Elijah, Jeremiah, Jacob, Walker, Marissa, Dylan, Cody, Kylee, Abby, Amber, and Caiden; three great-great-grandchildren, Haven, McKenzie, and Haisleigh; one brother, Leroy Reynolds; four sisters, Nettie Bolick and husband, Danny of Lenoir, North Carolina, Sandra Robinson of Wise, Virginia, Patsy Moore and husband, David of Castlewood, Virginia, and Alice McCoy of Lebanon, Virginia; special friend, Maggie Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Betty Lou Stephens will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Darrell Milgrim and Rev. Scott Million officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia. A radio broadcast of the service will be available on the Castlewood Funeral Home parking lot on radio station 88.9 FM during the service for those who would like to remain in your vehicle.
