Clinton Adair Asbury

March 3, 1945 - November 5, 2021

ABINGDON, VIRGINIA - Clinton Adair Asbury, age 76, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Clinton was born in Tazewell Co., Virginia to the late George W. and Lucy M. Asbury. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Walter Asbury, Deryl Dexter Asbury, James M. Asbury, George W. Asbury, Jr, Albert C. Asbury, and Jessee “Bill” Asbury; and three sisters, Virginia Quesenberry, Frances Short, and Amanda Shell. Clinton was a proud Army Veteran and did two tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked for Clinchfield Coal, retiring from Alpha Natural Resources with 40 years of service. He was a member of both Dingus Memorial Church in Dante, Virginia and Jackson Memorial Church, in Bristol Virginia. He was a member of Castlewood Masonic Lodge #231 A.F. & A.M. and Member of Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason in Virginia Castlewood Chapter #34. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Barbara Hartsock Asbury; one daughter, Lora Kiser and husband, Charles of Abingdon, Virginia; three brothers, John Vance, Michael Vance and wife, Ginny, and Eddie Joe Asbury and wife, Paula, all of Tazewell County, Virginia; one sister, Mary Jane Haltom, also of Tazewell County, Virginia; two granddaughters, Ella Kiser and Ava Kiser; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Clinton Adair Asbury will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Pastors Gary Harless and Arville Dingus officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Military Rites will be conducted by the Virginia National Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. A Masonic Memorial service will be conducted at 12:45 p.m., Monday by the Castlewood Masonic Lodge #231 A.F. & A.M.
