ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA – Dewey Salyer, 50, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in Russell County Hospital in Lebanon, Virginia. He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee the son of the late Kennith Dewey Sr. and Nancy Gennette Dockery Salyer. He attended Erwin Chapel Church in Castlewood, Virginia. He enjoyed hunting with his son and brothers-in-law, slot car and R/C racing, and NASCAR. He loved driving a truck and got recognition for over one million miles driven. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Salyer; one son, Kennith Ray “K.R” Salyer and wife, Whitlee of Abingdon, Virginia; two granddaughters, Raegan Belle and Emma Clair Salyer; two sisters, Barbara Starnes and husband, Randall and Lisa Meade and husband, Ray; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside Services and Interment for Dewey Salyer will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021, in Wright Cemetery in Dickenson County, Virginia with Rev. Marvin Dockery officiating. Family and Friends will meet at the Funeral Home, leaving for the cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
