CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – E.G. Jessee, 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. He was born in Russell County, Virginia; son of the late Ballard and Dorothy Osborne Jessee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Patrick, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Frances Mullins. E.G. attended Mount Calvary Church in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a former employee of V.D.O.T. for thirty years. He loved spending time with his son on the farm, watching and caring for their cattle. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-seven years, Mildred Jessee; one son, Travis Jessee and wife, Brogan of Castlewood, Virginia; sister-in-law, Lois Branson of Castlewood, Virginia; two nieces, Becky Rasnake and husband, Mike and Amy Branson; one nephew, Mike Patrick and wife, Tammy; one great-nephew, Parker Rasnake; his special little buddy, Clayton Musick; and his special dog, MyKinsey. Funeral Services for E.G. Jessee will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Kirby Miller, Rev. Virgil Musick, and Rev. Howard Edwards officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m., Monday. Pallbearers will be Travis Jessee, Nick Sargent, Jacob Musick, Craig Mullins, Eddie Meade, and Teddy Meade. Honorary Pallbearers will be the High Point V.D.O.T. employees, family, and friends. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
