LEBANON, VIRGINIA – Elizabeth Frances Glovier, 92, died on Friday, April 2, 2021, at English Meadows in Abingdon, Virginia. She was born in Dante, Virginia; daughter of the late Mason George and Bertha Hall Gordon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland B. Glovier; four brothers, Burleigh Spar Gordon, Harold Gordon, Fred Gordon, and Melvin Gordon; and one son-in-law, Robert Johnson. Frances was a native of Russell County, Virginia and a member of Dingus Memorial Freewill Baptist Church in Dante, Virginia where she served as treasurer for several years. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge #99 and a member of O.E.S. #152 in St. Paul, Virginia where she also served as several star points. Her favorite pastime was working and growing beautiful flowers in her garden. Frances loved to sing about her Lord with her lovely soprano voice. She had a great love for her family and loved cooking for them and spending time with them. Between the two of them, Frances and Garland knew almost everyone in the surrounding area and had a host of friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her three daughters, Charleen Johnson of Lebanon, Virginia, Floyce DeBusk and husband, Herbert of Glade Spring, Virginia, and Catherine Lawson and husband, Lee of Abingdon, Virginia; one son, Curtis Glovier and wife, Nancy of Lebanon, Virginia; one sister, Ruth Gordon of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Odell Gordon of Castlewood, Virginia; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Elizabeth Frances Glovier will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Arville Dingus and Rev. James Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Glovier, Kevin Johnson, Bryan Lawson, Justin Glovier, Todd Glovier, Brian Saxton, and Jerry Gordon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Holbrook, Braden Frondorf, Gage Frondorf, Jacob Dobbins, and Caleb Dobbins. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia.
