Fred William Gose

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA – Fred William Gose, 92, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina. He was born in St. Paul, Virginia; son of the late John Thomas and Patsy Elizabeth Pierce Gose. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Beatrice DeAbreu, Alberta McDonald, Freda Miles, Hazel Carlyle, and Elizabeth Scott; and two brothers, Charles W. Gose and John Thomas Gose, Jr. Fred attended Union Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina and was a great hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sanders Gose; one son, Fred D. Gose and wife, Donna of Stone Mountain, Georgia; one daughter, Fredricka “GiGi” Gose of Durham, North Carolina; two grandchildren, John Thomas Gose of Davidson, North Carolina and Leah Elizabeth Gose of Cambridge, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, a Graveside Service and Interment for Fred William Gose will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020, in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Woody Scott officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darryl Taylor, Robert McBride, David Singletary, and Billy Brodie. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia.
