Jean Glover Hall

May 13, 1936 - September 2, 2021

CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Jean Glover Hall, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 13, 1936, in Amonate, Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Hannah Ruth Glover. A lifelong member of St. Paul Assembly of God, she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and enjoyed working in the church’s youth programs and outreach. Jean was an avid reader and a gardener who enjoyed her blooming flowers. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Hall; her parents; her grandson, Cameron Hall; one sister, Elsie Hamilton; and four brothers, Elbert “Bus” Glover, Kelly Glover, Harold Glover, and Claude Glover. A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Jean is survived by her two sons, Tim Hall and wife, Susan of Abingdon, Virginia and Randy Hall and wife, Mary Sue of Castlewood, Virginia; three grandchildren, Wes Hall of Columbus, Ohio, Kelsey Daugherty of Abingdon, Virginia, and Katie Hall of Abingdon; one great-granddaughter, Braylee Hall of Castlewood, Virginia; two sisters, Nell Stewart of St. Paul, Virginia and Brenda Jacobs and husband, Bob of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Glover of San Antonio, Texas, and Virginia Dare Farmer of Bristol, Virginia; and several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Services for Jean Glover Hall will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Ron Hager and Rev. George Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Wes Hall, Bradley Jessee, Danny Hendrickson, Marcus French, Larry Owens, and Freddie Holbrook. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia.
