Jeffery Lee Chafin

CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Jeffery Lee Chafin, 63, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home. He was born in Abingdon, Virginia; son of the late James Harrison Chafin and Mary Holmes Bailey. Jeff loved to fish, watch NASCAR, and collect antiques. He was a generous and loving father and husband and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Diane Chafin; one daughter, Summer McCown and husband, Lee of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Jim Chafin and fiancée, Joyce Page of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; one granddaughter, Maddie McCown; three nephews, Dalton Salyer, Peyton Salyer, and Jamie Chafin; one niece, Jennifer Chafin; special friends, Danny and Terri Hicks, and their son, Cody and John and Alisia Robinson; and special pet, Lady. Funeral Services for Jeffery Lee Chafin will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Randy Cross officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Dalton Salyer, Peyton Salyer, Josh Harrison, Cody Hicks, David Crabtree, and Hunter Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Ernest Henry, Danny Hicks, Robert Salyer, Lee McCown, Dean Crabtree, Henry Hurd and Scott Hurd. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
