Myrtle Catherine Jessee

October 5, 1949 - September 11, 2021

NEWPORT, TENNESSEE – Myrtle Catherine Jessee, 71, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at her home. She was born in Dunlap, Tennessee to the late Walter Wayne Walker and Burma Ozell Camp Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Jessee; and one brother, Tony Nelson; and a brother who survived but has since passed away, Phil Anderson Walker. Myrtle Catherine was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, nature, her animals, and quilting. She was a gentle soul. She is survived by one daughter, Lorri A. Jessee Griffin and husband James Branson Griffin, Sr. of Newport, Tennessee; one son, James Brian Jessee of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Catherine LeeAnn Griffin, Carley Jessee, and James Branson Griffin, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth; and two great-grandchildren, Ainsley Griffin and Brantlee Griffin. Graveside Services and Interment for Myrtle Catherine Jessee will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Jessee Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Arville Dingus officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Family and friends.
