ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA – Nell Glover Stewart, 87, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at her home. She was born in Amonate, Virginia; daughter of the late William and Hannah Ruth Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Stewart, Jr.; one son, D. Michael Stewart; one granddaughter, Abbi Gayle Osborne; and siblings, Elsie Hamilton, Bus Glover, Claude Glover, Harold Glover, Jean Hall, and Nell’s twin brother, Kelly Paul Glover. Nell graduated from Castlewood High School, Castlewood, Virginia in the class of 1976. She was a member of Abingdon First Assembly of God in Abingdon, Virginia and was a 30 year member of St. Paul Assembly of God in St. Paul, Virginia where she taught Sunday school and helped with the Woman’s Ministry for many years. J. Fred Matthews Library, in St. Paul, Virginia was one of her favorite places to go and visit. She is survived by her two daughters, Deena and husband, Jim Osborne of Coeburn, Virginia, their children, Beth, Heidi, and husband Robbie, and John Thomas and wife, Becky; their grandchildren, Faith, Jett, Mikayla, Eli and Samuel; daughter, Kellee; of Castlewood, Virginia, her children, Patrick and wife, Ashley, Parker, Garrett and wife, Beth; and daughter, Andee; Kellee’s grandchildren, Aria Evelyn and Silas Brady Van; one daughter-in-law, (Mike’s wife) Debbie of St. Paul, Virginia and their children, Jennifer, JoBeth, Rachel, Jessica, and Ali, and several grandchildren; one sister, Brenda and husband, Bob Jacobs of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, Steve and wife, Kay of St. Paul, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Norma and Harry Jarrett of Moneta, Virginia, Peggy Stewart of Castlewood, Virginia, and Darlene Glover of San Antonio, Texas; she left behind a host of family, grandchildren, friends, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly; and special friends, Rev. Roger William and wife, Wanda. Funeral Services for Nell Glover Stewart will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 1:30 p.m., Friday. Pallbearers will be John Osborne, Patrick Fields, Parker Fields, Garrett Patton, Jett Wilson, Dale Merlette, Christian Goforth, and Bill Daniel. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
