RICHMOND, VIRGINIA – Shelby Carty Watson, 82, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at her home. She was born in Castlewood, Virginia; daughter of the late Arthur “Bud” and Audrey Kennedy Carty. Shelby was a member of Staples Mill Road Baptist Church where she was involved with the Children’s Ministry and Children’s Choir. She loved to sing and was a member of the Gospel Group, Lifting Spirits. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann Watson of Doswell, Virginia and Kimberly Watson McGuire of Glen Allen, Virginia; two grandchildren, Ryan Alexander McGuire and Brittany Elizabeth McGuire; one sister, Patricia Ann Powers and husband, James of Castlewood, Virginia; two nieces, Dedra Elaine Powers and Stephanie Paige Collins. Graveside Services and Interment for Shelby Carty Watson will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum – Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. George Jessee officiating. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending the Visitation and Services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum – Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia.
