CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Thelma Frances Salyers, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2021, at her home. She was born in Wise County, Virginia; daughter of the late Gaines Arthur and Lilly Emmaline Jessee Helbert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nathan Salyers. Frances was a member of Rings Chapel Baptist Church in Castlewood, Virginia, and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her four daughters, Gwenda Dingus of Kingsman, Arizona, Joyce Burke and husband, Thomas of Castlewood, Virginia, Ella Salyers and fiancée, Larry Dean of Castlewood, Virginia, and Peggy Keith and husband, Guy of Castlewood, Virginia; one son, Kennia Salyers of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Marvin Helbert and wife, Elaine of Castlewood, Virginia; one sister, Bernice Hurd Hicks of Castlewood, Virginia; friend and caregiver, Patrick Dunfee of Castlewood, Virginia; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Thelma Frances Salyers will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. George Jordon officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021, at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 am Monday. Pallbearers will be Kevin Burke, Nathanael Keith, Mason Ben-Saleck, Dalton Neece, Hunter Hamilton, and Garrett Dingus-Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be Luke Keith. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia. A radio broadcast of the service will be available on the Castlewood Funeral Home parking lot on radio station 88.9 FM during the service for those who would like to remain in your vehicle.
