Timothy Maury McCoy

NORA, VIRGINIA – Timothy Maury McCoy, 56, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at his home. He was born on January 2, 1966, in Lebanon, Virginia, son of the late Bobby and Bolina McCoy. He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike McCoy, and his mother-in-law, Shelia Mitchell. Tim was a loving and kindhearted man who lived for God and his family. He was always willing to help others. He loved to laugh and joke and give people their own unique nicknames. In past years, he coached youth baseball and football. He loved playing games with his children and taking them fishing. He was always finding a way to make people laugh. He was a 1985 graduate of Ervinton High School where he excelled in baseball. He was president of Brushy Ridge Community Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Josette McCoy; five sons, Jeremy McCoy of Nora, Virginia, Justin McCoy of Nora, Virginia, Jessie McCoy and wife Kaydee of Castlewood, Virginia, Matthew McCoy and Isaiah McCoy, both of the home; three daughters, Brittany McCoy, Sarah McCoy, and Shadon McCoy, all of the home; one brother, Neil McCoy and wife, Angela of Nora, Virginia; one sister, Amy Kiser and husband, Tommy of Coeburn, Virginia; one grandson, Nathaniel McCoy; father-in-law, Carlos Mitchell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Funeral Services for Timothy Maury McCoy will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Tommy Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in McCoy Cemetery on Poker Flats Road, Nora, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Neil McCoy, Gage McCoy, Aaron Kiser, Austin McCoy, William McCoy, and Adam Kiser. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jamie McCoy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
