CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - Troy Burton, Sr., 84, died Monday, September 28, 2020, at Carrington Place in Rural Retreat, Virginia. He was born in Russell County, Virginia; son of the late Fulton and Eliza Osborne Burton. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines, serving in the Korean War. He is survived by his three daughters, Faye Murray of Bristol, Virginia, Tammy Cain of Hazelton, New Jersey, and Rebecca Burton of Bristol, Virginia; three sons, Troy A. Burton, Jr. of Bristol, Virginia, David F. Burton of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Jamie Burton of Johnson City, Tennessee; one sister, Martha Johnson of Abingdon, Virginia; two brothers, Bryan Burton of Johnson City, Tennessee and J. C. Salyer of Castlewood, Virginia; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Troy Burton, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia. Interment will follow at Burton Family Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Jessie Jones, Rev. Bill Crawford, and Bryan Burton officiating. Pallbearers will be Benny Jones, Roger Hurd, Gene Marshall, Denver Meade, Tim Burton, and Greg Johnson. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Virginia following the same restrictions.
