FOREST, VIRGINIA – Victor J. “Jack” Boris went to be with his Lord and Savior and his beloved wife, Jean, on January 15, 2021 at the home of his daughter, Cindy, in Forest, Virginia. Jack was born on January 20, 1939 in Clinchco, Virginia to Victor L. and Edna Couch Boris. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Jean Sanslow Boris; his infant son, Dean Allen Boris; and a brother, Joe Boris. Jack had resided in Lynchburg, Virginia for 44 years following a lengthy career in the United States Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force, Jack and his wife Jean had been the owners of Electronics Repair Center and Industrial Electronics Supply in Forest, Virginia for many years. He was also a master clock repairman and enjoyed spending time in his “Clock House” with the hundreds of clocks he had collected. Jack was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Jack attended Rocks Baptist Church in Pamplin, Virginia. Jack is survived by two daughters, Cindy Mann and Fiancée, Troy Floyd of Forest, Virginia, and Lisa Madden of Holly Springs, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Austin Bower and Lauren Bower, both of Franklin, Tennessee, Ashley Perkins and husband, DeVanti of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Joshua Madden of Holly Springs, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Amari Perkins and Harmony Perkins, both of Lynchburg, Virginia; two sisters, Ruth Prater of Venice, Florida, and Shelby Snider and husband, Lynn of Roanoke, Virginia; two brothers, Jim Boris of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Johnny Boris and wife, Cindy of Roanoke, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, in-laws, and other relatives and friends. Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral services for Victor J. “Jack” Boris will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia, with Rev. Doug Lee, Pastor of Rocks Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum at Castlewood, Virginia. Military Rites will be conducted by Shaw Air Force Base Honors Guard. Pallbearers will be Austin Bower, Troy Floyd, Craig Sanslow, Kent Sanslow, Brad Boris, and David Boris. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Sanslow, Johnny Boris, Jim Boris, Al Dickenson, Frankie Boris, and Mike Boros. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
